Supergene.ai is a new offering from Superbio.ai, an AI software startup created by serial entrepreneur and Stanford professor Ronjon Nag to democratize advanced scientific research. Superbio's latest product is an AI genomics explorer called Locus, which we noticed many people were using the analyze their own genomes. So, we were motivated to offer personal sequencing services, helping more people obtain their own genomic data before deciding whether to analyze it with Superbio.

How is this different from 23andMe?
23andMe genotypes a small, pre-selected set of around 600,000 positions in your DNA. We sequence your entire genome (all 3 billion base pairs!) at clinical-grade depth, so we capture the novel and rare variants that consumer chips simply can't see. And instead of a fixed set of pre-written reports, you get your complete raw data (FASTQ, BAM, VCF), owned entirely by you, plus an AI Agent you can ask anything, again and again, as the science evolves.
How is my data kept private?
Your genome and reports are delivered via Superbio, in an encrypted, private cloud storage bucket accessible from the browser. We recommend you keep it here, because the files are too big for many laptops. From here, our AI Agent can access the processed data and answer your questions. Throughout this process, your data is anonymized, and personal identifiers are never exposed.
Is deeper sequencing worth it for me?
3x is suitable for ancestry and basic insights. 30x is the clinical standard for disease risk analysis, and what most people should buy. 100x is for rare and structural variant discovery, best for patients with genetic conditions looking to pinpoint precise disease mechanisms.
Do I own my data?
Yes. You can download your FASTQ, BAM, and VCF files, and delete everything from our servers with just one click. The only copy of your data is delivered directly to you, so this action is final.
